The more casual side is fine from this as they don't care what the devs release as long as they're enjoying the game. They release fun exploration areas like the summer island event from last year and the teapot, but events are sadly temporary. Mihoyoverse releases difficult events, but meta players still clear them too quickly. They don't mind logging in everyday to play for however long they're playing regardless of if they're new or veteran, FTP to whales or meta and casual focused players.Įxcluding new regions and new character banners, who out of these perspectives will Mihoyoverse give more attention to? The answer…a little bit of everyone. Lastly there are those who want the game to remain the same without the devs making it difficult or adding in a lot of the fun permanent minigame features and such, they love the game as is and would rather it stay that way. There are players who want much more difficult and challenging content aside from Spiral Abyss like raids, revamped boss fights, enemy arenas like survival mode and such and more challenging field enemies. There are players who want fun endgame stuff to do that's long lasting and isn't temporary like every event is in the game, think FFXIV's Goldsaucer and all of the minigames it houses, a game that does it right. If you look at the graph, the overwhelming majority of the "decline" actually happened very early on - they "lost" half of their peak player base within a week. You gotta look at this entire situation from different perspectives. I played it for a few hours over a couple nights, then quit and uninstalled it.Ī lot of other people did the exact same thing.

It bored me because of the slow pacing, which was exactly what I feared I wouldn't like. I didn't think I would like Battle Royale games, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I had never played a Battle Royale game before, and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds didn't seem like it would be very representative of the experience/didn't appeal to me much.Īs such, I installed Realm Royale because it was 1) free and 2) on Steam (as opposed to having to mess around with Epic's launcher for Fortnite - yes, I am lazy). Speaking as one of the players who picked it up then quit: I don't think they ever really had a devoted playerbase to begin with.

That dude got his legendary bomb thrower first chest and I got a poison pistol. Instead of having to fight people for it. The big one that made me stop after two weeks was when they decided that you can get a legendary out of a regular chest. And I am only mentioning a fourth of the changes. They spoke of not wanting an automatic rifle for reasons I agreed with but turned around and added them anyway. It just kept swingign around wildly with massive changes to the guns balance themselves. Then mages got out as the best and ho boy was that annoying when everyone and their mother played fireball/iceblock mage.

Then the next patch that got nerfed and suddenly it was shotgun.

You could glitch it at the time and hit for full damage with a tap. A patch later they were total garbage and suddenly it was hunter bow. When I started heirloom rifles were the best everything. Its balance swings with every patch to the extreme.

The major problem this time around is they have no idea which way they want the game to go imo.
